The wife of Nigerian President, Mrs. Aisha Muhammadu Buhari unveils “LNG Abuja II” in Geoje, The Republic of Korea on 25th February, 2016

The wife of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, H.E, Mrs. Aisha Muhammadu Buhari was in Geoje, The Republic of South Korea from 22-25th February, 2016 during when she presided over a Naming ceremony of one of the six LNG Ships acquired by Bonny Gas Transport Ltd, (BGT) a subsidiary of the Nigerian Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG).  The Ship was built by Samsung Heavy Industries and at a colorful naming ceremony in their Ship Yard in Geoje, Mrs Buhari who is the godmother of the new ship named her LNG ABUJA II.  In her speech, she wished the ship and the crew safety at all times in her voyages as well as bringing more prosperity to Nigeria. She expressed delight in the inclusion of the Nigerian local contents in the construction of the Ship.

Furthermore, Mrs. Buhari expressed confidence that despite the challenges in the global energy market, Nigeria and Korea will continue to occupy important positions with respect to international energy security and development.  She added that the relationship between Nigeria and The Republic of Korea is much in line with the goals of the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari of furthering the development of human capital and job creation. She commended the management of BGT Ltd for a job well done.

The dignitaries in the entourage of Mrs. Buhari were Mrs. Mairo Al-Makura of Nasarawa State, H.E, Mrs. Olufunso Amosu of Ogun State, Mrs. Zainab Bagudu of Kebbi State, H.E, Mrs. Nkechi Okorocha of Imo State and Mrs. Alayinge Sylvia , wife of the former Governor of Bayelsa State.

Among the dignitaries form BGT and LNG include Chief O.R Longjohn-President of BGT, Mr. Babs Omotowa-Vice President of BGT, Mrs Ibe Kachikwu, wife of the Minister of State, Ministry of Petroleum  Resources, Mr. Isa Inuwa, Capt. Temilola Okesonjo, etc

Mr. Momoh Sheidu Omeiza , Head of Mission/Charge d’Affaires, a.i, Embassy of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Seoul and his officials were on hand to facilitate the important visit.
