| Nigeria established full diplomatic ties with the
Republic of Korea in 1987 and the Embassy was opened
by Ambassador, Dr. Abel Guobadia. thereafter Ambassadors
E.E. Onobu, O. Falola and A.A.O. Odu and A.A. Tijjani
have served in the mission at various times.The incumbent
Ambassador Desmond Akawor , assumed duties in April 24,2008.
The Embassy which was previously situated at 724-5 Hannam-dong,
Yongsan-gu, Seoul, moved on January 1, 2000, to its current
location at 310-19 Dongbinggo-dong, Yongsan-gu . The
building which is a five - story building is owned by
the Nigerian government.
The Mission is made up of the Administration Consular
section; Economic / Commercial section; Accounts Section;
Protocol /Information & Publicity section; Political
/ Secretarial /Registry & Library Section.
The Staff disposition of the Mission stands at 16 persons
comprising seven Home Based Officers and 8local staff.
In line with its duties, the Embassy nurtures, fosters
and facilitates the excellent bilateral relations between
Nigeria and Korea in all its ramifications as well as protects
the interest of Nigeria and Nigerians in South Korea. |
